Taylor Throckmorton '12

Joining the cross country and track and field staff in 2013, Taylor Throckmorton is in his second year of mentoring the Gator throwers and jumpers.  In his inaugural season with the program, Throckmorton’s direct supervision helped guide seven athletes to a combined 13 All-NCAC selections, three school records, a conference record, and two national qualifying marks.  

During the 2013-2014 campaign, Junior Mike Petro broke school records in both the weight throw and hammer throw en route to earning two All-NCAC accolades while classmate Lexie Mochan won the conference championship in the hammer by breaking the NCAC championship record with a throw of 53.62 meters, and earned a spot at the NCAA division III national championship.  Joining Mochan at the national championship was senior Sarah Moss, who qualified while breaking the school record in the heptathlon with a score of 4400 points.

Throckmorton is a 2012 graduate of Allegheny College where he was named the 2012 Indoor Sprinter/Hurdler of the Year for the NCAC and was also a member of the 2011 Distance Medley Relay team which captured the national title.  Throckmorton graduated as a 12-time All-Conference performer and a 2011 All-American.

A member of the National Throws Coaches Association, Throckmorton earned his USTFCCCA technical certification in the summer of 2012.  He also was a member of the coaching staff for the Allegheny College Primal Throwing Clinic during the summer of 2014.
