Bryan Payton

Bryan Payton comes to Allegheny after spending the 2012-13 at Trine University, where he was an assistant on both the track and field and football teams.  In track, he helped guide the Thunder to a third-place finish at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association championships, the program's best performance ever, while he also mentored the first All-American in Trine history in the 400-meters, as well as the school's national-qualifying 4x400 relay team.  On the football staff, he mentored the team's tight ends, helping the squad to a 7-3 finish.

Prior to Trine, Payton served as running backs coach at Franklin College (Ind.) and Concord University (W.Va.).  He is a graduate of Indiana University-Bloomington, where he was a four-year letterman for the Hoosier football team at running back.  Elected game captain three times, he was a member of Indiana's 2007 Insight Bowl team.  A native of Fort Wayne, Ind., Payton graduated from Indiana in 2009 with a B.A. in general studies.
