Gabby Holko

In July of 2016, Gabby Holko was hired as an assistant coach for the Allegheny women's basketball program.

Holko arrives in Meadville after a two-year stint as a graduate assistant coach at Misericordia University. At Misericordia, she assisted in all facets of the program and was responsible for recruiting, practice planning, coordinating scout team, and the creation of scouting reports. In addition, Holko coordinated the logistics of camps and clinics, the program's annual Play4Kay game, and dining and lodging for team travel. Between the 2014-15 and the 2015-16 seasons, the Cougars saw a six-win improvement while playing in the MAC Commonwealth Conference – one of the more competitive leagues in NCAA Division III women's basketball.

Prior to beginning her coaching career, Holko starred for Westminster (Pa.) College from 2010 to 2014. She was a team captain 2013-14, finishing her senior campaign on the All-Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC) Second Team while also garnering Team MVP plaudits. Holko finished second in program history for career three-point field goals with 153 and also shares the school single-game record with six trifectas on Dec. 10, 2011 in a 65-49 victory over Washington & Jefferson.

During her undergrad years at Westminster, Holko spent three years working as a student employee in the athletic department and also spent three summers as a camp leader for the YMCA in Pittsburgh. She worked directly with her head coach with Front Rush and Fast Draw, was responsible for reorganizing athletic records, and monitored the weight room and athletic facilities.

A native of Pittsburgh, Holko graduated from Westminster in 2014 with her Bachelor's degree in history. This past May, she completed her Master's degree from Misercordia in organizational management with a focus in human resources.
