Stephanie Fort '13

A four-year standout for the Gators from 2010-13, Stephanie Fort returned to her Alma Mater and joined the softball coaching staff in August 2015.

A 2013 Allegheny graduate with a degree in biology and minor in psychology, Fort returns to Allegheny after serving as an assistant coach for both the softball and cross country teams at her alma mater, Saint Catherine’s School, in Richmond, Virginia.

Fort put together a prolific four-year career on the diamond for the Gators.  Splitting time between shortstop and center field, she started all 144 games during her career, and was a four-time All-North Coast Athletic Conference honoree.  She batted .353 for her career (149-for-422), while her 20 career home runs currently rank fourth in program history.

Fort also totaled 31 doubles, five triples, 87 RBIs, and 59 walks for her career, while stealing 36 bases in 40 attempts.  Her finest season came as a junior in 2012, when she was named the NCAC Player of the Year after batting .378 (42-for-110) with a conference-leading nine home runs, while also scoring 42 runs, racking 10 doubles, stealing 15 bases, and posting a .730 slugging percentage, the fourth highest in team history.

In addition to her individual success, Fort led the Gators to NCAC prominence, as the 2012 squad captured the conference’s regular season title, before the 2013 team won the NCAC tournament and advanced to the championship game of the NCAA Angola Regional tourney, one game away from the Division III World Series.

Fort will be responsible for assisting Curtiss with all day-to-day duties of the Gator softball program, including recruiting, practice planning, academic oversight.
