Former Gator Joplin Osgood '22 enters her first season as an assistant softball coach at Allegheny College in the spring of 2024.
A two-time All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Honorable Mention and team captain, Osgood was a four-year member of the Allegheny softball program from 2019-22. As a middle infielder, she started 87 of the 89 games she played and posted an impressive .321 career batting average.
A native of Coudersport, Pennsylvania, Osgood's best season came as a senior in 2022, when Osgood hit .362 with 21 runs, 12 doubles, nine RBIs, and one home run - all career-highs. She was tied for first on the team with 10 multi-hit games, led all Gators in batting average, on-base percentage (.408), and slugging percentage (.521), and was one of only three players to start all 32 games that spring. In addition to her second All-NCAC recognition, she was nominated for Allegheny's Female Senior Achievement Award.
Osgood, who also spent one season with the Gator volleyball team, graduated magna cum laude with a degree in psychology. She is currently pursuing a master's in applied clinical psychology at Penn State Behrend.
