Toby Cline joined Allegheny College as an assistant peak performance coach ahead of the 2025-26 academic year.
Cline arrives in Meadville after completing strength and conditioning internships in Erie at Mercyhurst University and the Erie Sports Now Fitness and Performance Center. In both roles, his responsibilities ranged from demonstrating proper technique to leading energizing warm-ups and designing training and metabolic conditioning sessions. With the Lakers, he worked with the football, men's and women's lacrosse, women's basketball, and softball teams, and supported injured athletes by guiding them through modified workout routines to aid recovery and maintain strength.
A former student-athlete at PennWest Edinboro, Cline was a team captain and standout in the secondary for the Fighting Scots. He amassed more than 100 tackles with four interceptions in 33 career games as a defensive back. As a junior, he was named to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division All-Conference Second Team after posting career highs with 51 total tackles and two interceptions. That season, he also collected PSAC West Defensive Player of the Week honors after picking off two passes in a 40-24 win over Mercyhurst.
Originally from Jeannette, Pennsylvania, Cline graduated from PennWest Edinboro in May 2025 with a bachelor's degree in exercise science.Â
