Pam Monnier will enter her sixth season with the Allegheny women's soccer program in 2020 and her will be her fifth as the head coach after joining the coaching staff in July 2015 as an assistant coach. Monnier was named the program's fifth head coach on December 22, 2016.
A native of East Northport, New York, Monnier came to Allegheny after spending two seasons on the women's soccer coaching staff at Vassar College. During her tenure, the Brewers went a combined 17-14-4, including a berth in the Liberty League playoffs in 2013, their first postseason trip since 2010. Over Monnier's two years, Vassar players earned a total of five All-Liberty League accolades, including 2014 All-ECAC and NSCAA All-Region honoree Chloe Wheeler.
Prior to working at Vassar, Monnier worked at her alma mater, SUNY-Cortland, in multiple roles during 2012-13. As a coach, she assisted with various duties on the women's soccer staff, including arranging travel, recruiting, and mentoring the Red Dragon goalkeepers, as the squad went 12-5-6 and advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Division III playoffs. She also held positions on the Cortland athletic leadership retreat staff and athletic events staff, while serving as assistant director for summer sports camps.
As an undergraduate, Monnier was a four-time First Team All-Conference honoree at Cortland, starting 79 of a possible 81 games in goal for the Red Dragons. Named both the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Player of the Year in 2011, Monnier finished with a career record of 43-23-14, totaling 31 career shutouts (including a SUNYAC-leading 11 in 2011), while allowing just 64 goals and making 314 career saves, a Cortland team record. Team captain as both a junior and senior, Monnier helped the Red Dragons reach the Elite Eight of the NCAA Division-III National Playoffs in 2011. She graduated from Cortland with honors with a degree in physical education.
Monnier is the fifth head coach in the 31-year history of the Allegheny women's soccer program, following John Wilcher (1985-97),
Jeff Groff (1998-2001), Paul Bonus (2002-2004), and Mike Webber (2005-15).
