In September of 2016, Brandon Nicholson joined the Allegheny College men's soccer staff as an assistant coach.

Nicholson arrives in Meadville after spending the last year at The Player Progression Academy in Washington D.C., where he served as both the head coach and associate director. He coached two teams and led 10 practice sessions per week to help increase players’ knowledge and skills. Nicholson also ran 10 clinics per week and educated interested players and their families by updating the website.

Nicholson has coached four seasons at the collegiate level, spending two years (2010-11) at Hood College, the 2013 campaign at Waynesburg University and the 2014 season at Waldorf University. As an assistant in 2013, he helped guide the Yellow Jackets to a program-best 10-4-3 overall record and a 5-0-3 mark in home matches. Nicholson organized and led practices, mentored players, developed game plans, and assisted in recruitment. He served as the head assistant and head junior varsity coach of the Warriors in 2014, bringing in seven players on the recruiting trail, including the team’s leading scorer.

In 2014, he was the head coach of the U19 MUSC Fusion in Morgantown, West Virginia, leading them to a 9-1 record. He also ran a U6 fundamentals program as part of MUSC, instructing ages 6-8 while instilling the value of a safe playing environment.

Nicholson played four years of soccer at Goucher College in Towson, Maryland and saw action in 32 contests over his final three seasons. The Damascus, Maryland native graduated from Goucher in 2010 with his Bachelor’s degree in communications.
