Justin Linzy

Justin Linzy was hired as Allegheny's head track and field coach and assistant cross country coach in July 2016.

A native of Toledo, Ohio, Linzy arrived in Meadville after spending two seasons as the director of track and field and cross country at Olivet College, while he has also worked on the track and field staffs at Muskingum University, Huntingdon College, and Ohio Northern University.

Linzy served as the site supervisor and meet director of the 2015 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association cross country championships, in which he saw Olivet's Allyson Schultz earn all-conference honors, and the 2014 MIAA outdoor track and field championships.   In all, his athletes at Olivet combined to set 30 school records.

In his position at Olivet, Linzy served as the head track and field coach, while also overseeing the school's men's and women's cross country programs.  He worked with all disciplines with the track and field program, including sprints, jumps, throws, and distance, and produced the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) indoor 800 champion in Connor Bauserman, who went on to earn All-Region honors in the event.

Prior to his tenure at Olivet, Linzy served as an assistant track and field and cross country coach at Muskingum, specializing in sprints, hurdles, and jumps while assisting in all aspects of the program,   In 2012, he was part of a Muskie staff that was named the Ohio Athletic Conference's Cross Country Staff of the Year, while he served as meet director at a pair of events, including the 2013 Amy Adams Memorial Invitational and the 2013 OAC Split Meet.  While at Muskingum, he also completed his masters in adult education.

Before joining the Muskingum staff, Linzy assisted in the start of a new track and field program at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama in the spring of 2012, where he specialized in horizontal and vertical jumps while developing and supervising individual daily workout plans.

Linzy began his collegiate track coaching career at his alma mater, Ohio Northern University, where he served as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator during the 2011 season. He scouted prospective student-athletes, coordinated recruit visits, and managed the team's recruiting budget.

In addition to his time on the Ohio Northern track and field staff, Linzy spent the 2010 season as an assistant on the football staff.  In addition to recruiting the states of Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, and Florida, he supervised the team's speed training, while also coaching both the running back and wide receiver positions.

Linzy graduated from Ohio Northern in 2010 with a B.A. in sports management.  He was a two-sport athlete for the Polar Bears, earning All-OAC honors in football at wide receiver and in track and field as a sprinter.  He helped the Polar Bears win the 2008 and 2009 Ohio Athletic Conference indoor titles and the 2009 outdoor championship.
