Brendan McShea

Brendan McShea begins his second season as a men’s basketball assistant coach at Allegheny College after spending the previous two seasons as an assistant coach at Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Mo. While at Culver-Stockton, McShea was responsible for practice planning, game scouting, organizing team travel, summer camps as well as heading up the program’s recruiting efforts. In his two years he coached three All-Conference selections and one Academic All-America honoree. Four graduates of the Wildcats signed professional basketball contracts in Europe and Australia during the same span.

Prior to his stint in the Show Me State, he was an assistant coach at Virginia Episcopal School, a boarding prep school in Lynchburg, Va. While on the staff the Fighting Bishops made two straight trips to the state tournament, winning the first two games in school history at that level. Seven players from those VES squads have gone on to successful collegiate athletic careers upon graduation.

McShea has worked at numerous camps and clinics, including summer camps at Davidson, Hampden-Sydney, Elon, Yale, Bucknell, and Holy Cross.

McShea earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, with a concentration in writing, from the College of William & Mary in 2006. He was a student assistant for Coach Tony Shaver and the men’s basketball team for three seasons while attending school. During his time with the staff, the Tribe improved their record every year and won their first conference tournament game in a decade. Originally from Front Royal, Va., McShea now resides in Meadville, Pa.
