Lawrence Robinson joined the Allegheny football staff in February 2019 after serving as a defensive quality control coach at NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) member William & Mary.
On a day-to-day basis while at W&M, Robinson assisted in breaking down film of opponents, charting practice productivity, inputting practice data and creating scouting profiles of each new opponent. On game day, he was responsible for recording personnel on defense and relaying information to the defensive coordinator and position coaches.
Off the field, Robinson was NCAA recruiting certified in October 2018 and worked with the rest of the coaching staff to evaluate potential recruits.
Prior to William & Mary, he spent six years on the staff at Hargrave Military Academy in Virginia, beginning as the defensive coordinator before eventually being elevated to assistant head coach. He broke into coaching at Christchurch School in Virginia as the co-offensive coordinator.
Robinson spent five years working at Hargrave, holding the positions of assistant athletic director for his duration and also working as an admissions counselor before being promoted to associate director of admissions in his final year.
As a student-athlete, Robinson was a four-year letter winner at safety at NCAA Division II West Liberty (W. Va.). A two-year starter at free safety, he was a team captain during his senior season of 2011. He also claimed honorable mention all-West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) honors in 2009, the same season the Hilltoppers made the Super Region 1 finals.
He graduated from West Liberty in 2011 with a degree in business administration. He is currently pursuing his master's in athletic administration at Ohio University.
