Kyle Smesko '97 returned to his alma mater prior to the 2022 season. 
 
Smesko most recently served as the Offensive Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach at Oberlin during the 2021 season. Prior to Oberlin, Smesko was at Norwich from 2018-2021. At Norwich, Smesko was the Recruiting Coordinator and worked with both the offensive line and tight ends. 
 
He started his coaching career at Allegheny from 1997-1998. During his first stint with the Gators, Semsko worked with wide receivers and running backs. After the Gators, he coached at Yale from 1999-2003. At Yale, he worked primarily with wide receivers and tight ends. 
 
In his collegiate coaching career, Smesko also had stops as the Offensive Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach at Franklin & Marshall from 2003-2006, the Offensive Line Coach at Thiel from 2007-2009 and the Running Backs Coach and an Offensive Coordinator at Williams from 2010-17.
 
Smesko also coached with the Monchengladbach American Football Club in Germany in 2017, working with other coaches on developing drills, fundamentals, coording offenses and strength and conditioning. 
 
As a student-athlete with the Gators, Smesko was a four-year letter winner, All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) selection, and team captain. Twice during his playing career, the team was ranked number one in the country and compiled a 38-5 record.
 
He graduated from Allegheny with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and from Norwich with a Master’s of Business Administration.
