Corey Lohr is a Level 2 Certified USAFH Coach. Coach Lohr is the Owner and Director of the Hellbenders Field Hockey Club and has coached with the United States Field Hockey Futures Program in Regions 4 & 9. Prior to Allegheny College, Coach Lohr volunteered with Shady Side Academy Field Hockey in Fox Chapel, Pennsylvania.
Coach Lohr boasts over 18 years of coaching experience creating programs and clubs within the United States Soccer Association. Training athletes from U6 to U19, balancing the tempo and structure appropriate to each age group. During his time coaching soccer, Lohr coached at Parris Island, SC a U6 and U8 team. He then relocated to NC where he coached with Swansboro Soccer Association U6, U8, U12 and developed a Classic Team which traveled in and out of NC. The team started as a U14 co-ed and competed throughout NC earning trophies within most tournaments. Coach Lohr then transferred the team to a U14 boys and continued to show improvement, and traveled further. He developed a team that dominated and continued within their High School Soccer team. Coach Lohr then transferred to Meridian, MS where he coached U8, U10 and North East Lauderdale High School. He developed the High School team into a show of force, and designed a program that is still dominating today.
Coach Lohr has played and learned tactical play in multiple countries, such as Italy, Spain, Greece, Korea, and Cyprus. His fondest memories include playing with the priests in Vatican City and with the Korean Marines while stationed in Korea. Coach Lohr earned his National Level D License with US Soccer before converting to field hockey.
During his coaching years, Coach Lohr also spent 22 years as a US Marine training and influencing the lives of thousands of Marines. From Drill Instructor to First Sergeant, home and abroad, he was tasked with securing, maintaining and promoting the lives of thousands. Coach Lohr uses structure, creativity and humor to help others reach their goals whether it is in the Corps or on the field.
