Biography

2010: Appeared in nine games in relief working 22.2 innings and striking out 18 in the process…posted a 2-0 record with the lowest ERA among the bullpen staff (1.59)…had five appearances in relief without giving up a run and had seven outings with no earned runs…set a career-high in strikeouts with seven against Bowdin on March 23rd…worked a season-high 4.0 innings on the road against Thiel and gave up one single…held left-handed batters to a dismal .056 (1-for-18) batting average and held all batters to a .208 (5-of-24) average with runners in scoring position.
2009: Appeared in three games as a freshman, finishing with a 5.62 ERA...made collegiate debut and worked three scoreless innings in 3-2 win over Westfield State...recorded career-high five strikeouts during 11-0 loss to Penn State Behrend.
Personal: Son of Lloyd Berns and Dyan Machan...born June 11, 1990...majoring in economics, with a double minor in geology and history
