Matt Riebesell joins the Allegheny baseball staff after concluding a stand-out career at Muhlenberg of the Centennial Conference. He was named a 2019 Second Team All-Mid-Atlantic Region selection by D3baseball.com after he led the Mules with a .411 batting average and 1.051 on-base plus slugging percentage (OPS). While starting 38 games as a senior captain, the catcher recorded 65 hits, including 21 doubles, two triples and two home runs, while driving in 35 runs. He graduated as the Mules’ single-season and career (43) doubles leader.
Riebesell holds a bachelor of arts in media and communications from Muhlenberg and was a three-time Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll choice. In addition to his playing experience, he has coached with the Fayetteville SwampDogs of the collegiate Coastal Plain League (CPL), as well as Paramus (N.J.) High School and the NJ Axemen 14U travel team.
