Biography

2014:  Primary starter at tailback, and team’s leading rusher... Ran for 540 yards and a team-high six touchdowns... Made nine receptions on the year for 360 yards... Gained over 50 yards rushing in six different games... Scored the Gators’ first touchdown of the season in week one vs. Thiel on a three-yard plunge... Ran for 78 yards, and scored the eventual game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter, in week two victory at Hiram... Scored touchdowns in three consecutive games near midpoint of season (11/4 vs. Ohio Wesleyan; 10/11 at Wooster, 10/18 vs. Oberlin) ... Exploded for career-high 143 yards on 15 carries at Kenyon on 11/1, including a 70-yard touchdown, the Gators’ longest play from scrimmage on the season.  

2013: Appeared in all 10 games at tailback as a sophomore, taking over starting role... Finished as the team’s leader in carries (90) and rushing yards (383)... Gained career-best 73 yards, on 11 carries, vs. Hiram in week three (9/21)... Ran 10 times for 47 yards, while also hauling in two receptions for eight yards, in week five at Ohio Wesleyan (10/5)... Ran eight times for 71 yards, including a 46-yard touchdown scamper, at DePauw in week eight (10/26)... Ran season-high 18 times for 69 yards and a touchdown, week nine vs. Denison (11/9).  

2012:  Made four appearances in the backfield as a freshman... Gained 39 yards on 15 carries, with one reception for six yards (9/8 vs. Carnegie Mellon)... Amassed season-high 25 yards on seven tries vs. Ohio Wesleyan (11/3).  

PERSONAL: Graduate of Firelands High School... Son of Rod and Michelle Deichler... History major, with minors in economics and English... Career plans are to become a history teacher and football coach.
