MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny men's soccer team continued the non-conference portion of their 2026 schedule at home against Alfred State Saturday (Sept. 12), defeating the Pioneers 3-2.
The Gators were quick to score, getting on the scoreboard in just the third minute. After a punch out by the Pioneer goalie,
Ben Keefer (Zelienople, Pa./Seneca Valley) snuck a pass through some Alfred State defenders and into the box to
Nick Magee (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township). Magee put a quick foot on the ball, guiding it into the back of the net for the tally.
The lead stood for about 20 minutes until the Pioneers converted a penalty kick to tie it.
Allegheny earned their own penalty shot in the 37th minute.
Miguel Narbona (Cádiz, Spain/Broughton (N.C.)) took the attempt and buried it in the bottom corner of the net, putting the Gators back on top.
The Gators took advantage of an Alfred State misplay in the 65th minute as Magee scored his second goal of the contest to extend their lead to two goals.
The Pioneers got a goal back in the 69th minute, making it a 3-2 game.
The Allegheny defense held tough the rest of the way as they collected the 3-2 non-conference win.
