MEADVILLE, Pa. -- For the first time since 2010, the Allegheny College football team is 2-0.
The Gators (2-0) blanked Juniata College (0-2) en route to a 27-0 victory during their home opener on Saturday afternoon at Frank B. Fuhrer '48 Field. With the win, Allegheny avenged its last-minute 40-38 loss to the Eagles on their home turf last fall while piecing together an early-season win streak heading into conference play.
Allegheny's only real miscues on the day were a red-zone fumble in the second quarter and a missed field goal in the closing seconds before halftime. Offensively, the Gators churned out nearly 400 total yards with 25 first downs, resulting in more than 38 minutes of possession time.

Micah Smith (Greensboro, N.C./Northern Guilford) for a 48-yard score to take a 7-0 lead on Allegheny's first drive. On the opening drive of the third quarter, he converted a third down on a pass to
Remington Rossow (West Palm Beach, Fla./Forest Hill), who carved through the Juniata defense for a 32-yard catch-and-run. The Colucci-to-Rossow connection also found the end zone early in the fourth quarter, beating Cover 0 with a wide-open post route down the right side on a fourth-and-six from the 23-yard line.
A week after Juniata rumbled for more than 260 yards on the ground against Gettysburg College, the stout Gator defense limited the Eagles to less than 100 total rushing yards on Saturday. Starting tailback Ivan Foreman, who surpassed 200 yards alone against Gettysburg, was held to a mere nine yards on five carries. The aerial attack also struggled, as Allegheny picked off Ethan Eisenberg thrice, including back-to-back interceptions on Juniata's last two possessions.
