MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny men's lacrosse dropped a non-conference home contest to Mount Union, 13-3, Wednesday (March 18).
The Gators got on the board first as
JP Rakis (Kensington, Md./Walter Johnson) scored the game's first goal, unassisted. That goal, just over two minutes in, proved to be the lone goal of the frame as the Gators led 1-0 heading into the second.
The Raiders took advantage of an Allegheny penalty early in the second to tie the game at one. The goal started a 3-0 run for Mount Union over the next three minutes. They added two more goals later in the quarter as they led 5-1 at halftime.
Mount Union scored the first three goals of the second half before Allegheny got back on the board. Once again, Rakis provided an unassisted goal for the Gators as they cut the lead to 8-2. However, the Raiders tacked on two more goals to close the quarter as they led 10-2 after three quarters.
After the Raiders scored first in the fourth,
Tomi Horsley (Salt Lake City, Utah/Brighton) scored the Gators' third unassisted goal. The Raiders would go on to score the final two goals of the game as the Gators fell at home.

- Horsley rounded out scoring for the Gators with a goal. He also had two groundballs.
- Garin Stearns (Hudson, Ohio/Revere) made 16 saves.
- Jared Swisher (Cumberland, Maine/Berwick Academy) caused three turnovers and had two groundballs.
- Liam Kruck (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin) had a team-high six groundballs.
- Gabe Shoemaker (Brunswick, Maine/Brunswick) won eight faceoffs while collecting five groundballs.
- Nathan Wheeler (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) had three groundballs while Jack Pearl (Ladera Ranch, Calif./JSerra Catholic) had two.
