BETHANY, W.Va. -- The Allegheny College women's soccer team earned its largest win of the season and most goals scored since 2024 with a 8-0 victory on the road against Bethany College to close out the regular season.
Â
Unlike some of their previous defensive, low-scoring matches, goals came in abundance for the Gators (9-5-4, 7-0-4 PAC). Seven different Gators tallied a goal, including Madeline Schneider (Poolesville, Md./Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart), who led the scoring with two.Â
Â
The match was also a strong defensive showing from the Gators, pitching a shutout. The team kept up a strong defensive pressure, making it an easy night for goalkeeper Addison Ayres (Murrysville, Pa./ Franklin Regional), who only needed to record three saves.
 Â
This match had significant playoff implications as well. With their win today, the Gators secured the No. 2 seed in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament and first-round bye. In addition to a high tournament seeding, Allegheny finished the season without a PAC loss for the first time since 1988 and the fourth time in program history.Â
