Women’s Basketball Drops PAC Road Game at Bethany

BETHANY, W. Va. – The Allegheny women's basketball team was unable to overcome a first half deficit against Bethany as the Gators fell on the road 88-61 Saturday (Jan. 31) in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play.

The teams went back-and-forth throughout most of the opening quarter as the Gators trailed 15-12 with under four minutes left. However, the Bison closed out the frame on a 9-1 run, hitting a trio of threes late.

The Bethany momentum carried over to the second as they scored the first eight points of the quarter. The Gators responded with a quick 5-0 run, but the Bison outpaced the Gators 13-7 the rest of the half as they led 45-25 at the halftime break.

In the third quarter, both sides produced 6-0 runs as they battled back-and-forth. By the end of the frame, the Bison outscored the Gators 20-16 as they pushed their lead to 65-41.

The Gators had their best offensive output of the game in the fourth quarter, scoring 20 points, but it was not enough to overcome the deficit as they fell in PAC action.
