MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny baseball team continued Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play with a seven inning, 10-0 win at home against Franciscan Wednesday (April 2).
The Gators got to work quickly.
Tyson Bryant-Dawson (Oakland, Calif./Manvel (Texas)) led-off the game with a double.
Matt Jennings (Birmingham, Mich./Brother Rice) followed up with a single to center, scoring Bryant-Dawson for the game's first run. After a stolen base and a walk to
Tommy Landsnes (Richmond, Va./Brunswick Academy), Jennings stole third and came home on a throwing error, making it 2-0.
Liam Irving (Olney, Md./Sherwood) increased the lead to 3-0 as he singled through the right side of the diamond, scoring Landsnes.
Similar to the first,
William Wolff (Naples, Fla./Gulf Coast) doubled to start the inning.
Nick Banez (Edmonds, Wash./Meadowdale) would bring him home on a RBI single. A Jennings single and a Landsnes groundout brought runs in as the Gators led 6-0 after two innings.
In the fifth, Irving and
Alejandro Samayoa (Katonah, N.Y./John Jay Cross River) hit-back-to back singles. Groundouts by
Garrett Lienhard (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe) and Wolff drove the pair in as the lead reached 8-0.
Irving doubled to start the seventh, his third hit of the game. A
Tommaso Floro (Sewickley Pa./Quaker Valley) single with two outs brought Irving in. After another hit by Banez, Bryant-Dawson ended the game with a RBI single to right field driving Floro in for the seven inning win.
Inside the Box
- Dawson Thomas (Espyville, Pa./Conneaut Area) earned the win for the Gators on the mound. In seven innings of shutout action, he gave up just six hits and no walks while striking out eight.
- Jennings had three hits, driving in a pair of runs.
- Irving also finished with three hits, including a double, while driving home a run.
- Bryant doubled as part of his two hits and a RBI.
- Landsnes and Banez each had two hits and a RBI each.
- Lienhard, Floro and Wolff all drove a run in.
