Barker Nets Career-High 41 to Lead Men's Basketball to Victory at Bethany

BETHANY, W.Va. -- Senior guard Luke Barker (New Castle, Pa./Struthers (Ohio)) went off in his final collegiate game, leading the Allegheny College men's basketball team to a 101-79 victory at Bethany College in the 2024-25 finale on Saturday.

Barker posted one of the most impressive stats lines in recent memory for the Gators (9-16, 7-13 PAC). The fourth-year standout netted a career-high 41 points, tied for the fourth-most in a game in program history. He added 10 rebounds for a double-double and flirted with triple-double territory with a game-high seven assists. In addition to five 3-pointers, Barker finished 18-of-21 from the foul line, with his 18 free throws ranking third-most by a Gator in a single.

All five starters reached double figures for Allegheny, which posted a season-best 101 points to run away from Saturday's matchup with the Bison (7-18, 2-18 PAC). Ryan Lang (Sarver, Pa./Knoch) poured in 15 points, followed by James Sitter (Erie, Pa./Fairview) with 14 points. In his first collegiate start, Devon Lewis (Fort Wayne, Ind./Canterbury School) was 4-for-4 from the field with a trio of 3-pointers, as the freshman collected 12 points. Second-year guard Jayson Perry (Tampa, Fla./Sickles) added 10 points.

Trailing 21-20 with 8:32 to go in the first half, the Gators began to pull away from Bethany. Allegheny netted 16 unanswered points over the next four minutes, a run highlighted by a steal and coast-to-coast bucket from Tanner Miller (Elkins, W.Va./Elkins). Allegheny led by 43-27 at the half, and the lead never fell below 16 points throughout the second half.
