MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny men's basketball team hosted Saint Vincent for their 2025 Senior Day, falling to the Bearcats 82-73 in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action Saturday (Feb. 15).
Before the game, Allegheny honored their two senior members:
Luke Barker (New Castle, Pa./Struthers (Ohio)) and student manager Fadi Al Khafaji.
The Bearcats got out to a 5-0 lead before the Gators tied it up at eight. The teams continued to battle back-and-forth as the Bearcats owned a narrow 19-18 lead at the second media timeout.
The Gators would fall behind 33-25 with under five minutes to play in the half, but quickly made up the ground. They went on to score eight unanswered points to tie the game at 33. After a Bearcat free throw, a driving layup by
Jayson Perry (Tampa, Fla./Sickles) put the Gators in front for the first time on the afternoon. The teams matched each other down the stretch before a late Bearcat basket gave them a 38-36 halftime lead.
Barker led the team with 10 first half points while
Devon Lewis (Fort Wayne, Ind./Canterbury School) had nine. The Gators shot 42.3% (11-26) from the field as both teams made five three.
The start of the second half saw the same back-and-forth trend as the opening 20 minutes. The Bearcats went on a couple small runs, but each time the Gators quickly responded to close the gap as they trailed 58-53 with ten minutes remaining.
Saint Vincent started to pull away after the midway point, putting together a 7-2 run as they increased their lead to 65-55.
The Gators stayed within striking distance the rest of the way but were unable to overcome the deficit as they fell in conference play.
Inside the Box
- Barker led the Gators on Senior Day with 21 points to go with four assists.
- Ryan Lang (Sarver, Pa./Knoch) finished with 16 points , six rebounds and a team-high five assists.
- James Sitter (Erie, Pa./Fairview) produced 11 points while sharing the team lead with seven rebounds.
- Isaiah Portis (Medina, Ohio/Norwayne) had nine points and seven rebounds.
- Lewis ended the game with nine points while Perry had seven.
- The Gators ended the afternoon shooting 44.8% (26-58) from the floor as each team made nine threes.

- Allegheny is now 10-5 all-time against Saint Vincent.
