Women's Basketball Tripped Up By Nationally-Ranked OWU

DELAWARE, Ohio -- The Allegheny College women's basketball team closed the 2025 calendar with a 75-60 loss to No. 15/16 Ohio Wesleyan University on Wednesday at OWU's Hoops for Hope Tournament.

The nationally-ranked Battling Bishops (10-1) earned their ninth consecutive victory and remained undefeated on their home court inside Branch Rickey Arena. OWU outscored the Gators (4-6) in each of the first three quarters and ended the first half on an 18-9 run to pull away with a double-digit lead.

Most of Allegheny's offense funneled through the trio of Isabella Antonacci (Indiana, Pa./Indiana Area), Jess Bickart (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley), and Sarah Santicola (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area). Combined, they accounted for 49 of the team's 60 points, while no other Gator finished with more than two points. Coming off a triple-double performance in Monday's 84-58 win over Mount Aloysius College, Bickart once again filled the box score with team highs in points (17), assists (7), and steals (7). In the fourth quarter alone, she helped Allegheny outscore Ohio Wesleyan, 18-12, by pouring in a team-best eight points in the period.
