MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny men's basketball team was unable to overcome second half runs by Penn State Behrend as they fell at home in non-conference action, 58-41, Tuesday (Nov. 25).
The Lions jumped out to a 13-5 lead early on after hitting a trio of three-pointers to start the game. The Penn State Behrend lead reached 12 points midway through the half, but the Gators went on a 6-1 run to cut the Lion advantage to 21-14 with eight minutes remaining in the frame. The teams continued to battle back-and-forth as the Gators cut the lead down to six, 27-21, entering the halftime break.
Jayson Perry (Tampa, Fla./Sickles) led the Gators in the opening half with nine points.

Ryan Lang (Sarver, Pa./Knoch) lay-up early in the second half cut the lead to 32-27, but the Lions went on an 8-0 run to answer. A three by
Max Wallace (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) ended the Penn State Behrend run. The Gators would once again pull within eight points, 42-34, before the Lions strung together an 8-0 run to regain control.
Penn State Behrend limited the Gators the rest of the way as Allegheny dropped the non-conference contest.
