MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny volleyball team picked up a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory Friday night (Oct. 17) in Meadville, sweeping Washington and Jefferson.
Allegheny won the sets 25-18, 25-15, 25-16.
The Gators gradually gained a lead in the opening set, 13-8, after a 5-1 run. Allegheny continued to build their lead as they led 20-13 when the Presidents called their second timeout. Following the timeout, the Gators wrapped up the first set, 25-18, on a

The teams battled back-and-forth in the early portions of the second set. The Gators put together a 9-2 run as they pulled ahead, 19-11, midway through the frame. The run propelled the team the rest of the way as they took the set 25-15.
Allegheny opened the third set on a 6-1 run. The Gators continued to grow their advantage as it reached 13-6 before a W&J timeout. The Allegheny momentum continued through a pair of timeouts as they clinched the match with a 25-16 set three win, completing the conference sweep.
Inside the Box
- Carlee Pepperman (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefonte Area) led the team with 14 kills to go alongside five digs and a pair of blocks.
- Fatola was also in double digits with 10 kills.
- Sydney Kirk (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seton LaSalle Catholic) finished with eight kills and two aces.
- Carly Beers (Warren, Pa./Warren) had five kills.
- Joanna Miller (Pittsburgh, Pa./Gateway) had 19 assists, seven digs and two aces while Izzy Gray (Erie, Pa./Harbor Creek) had 14 assists.
- Jacy Diaz (Barranquitas, Puerto Rico/Gallatin (Tenn.)) and Duru Akbas (Ankara, Turkey/Layton Christian Academy (Utah)) had 13 digs and two aces each.
