LATROBE, Pa. -- The Allegheny College women's lacrosse team won its fourth consecutive Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest with another rout, this time taming the Bearcats of Saint Vincent on the road, 19-1.
Not only did Allegheny (5-6, 4-1) turn in another outstanding offensive performance, but the Gators' defense and midfield units were nearly unbreakable. Possession was hard to come by for Saint Vincent (2-8, 1-4), who managed only one first-quarter goal and failed to score again for the final 53-plus minutes.
The 18-goal margin of victory is not only the largest of the season for the Gators, but Saint Vincent's lone goal marked the fewest allowed by Allegheny in a game since beating Thiel College, 17-1, on March 17, 2016.
Nine different players registered a point in Saturday's victory, led by
Ema Caragein (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seton LaSalle). Three days after netting a career-high six goals against Bethany College, Caragein produced single-game career-highs with eight points and five assists.Â
