Gators Fall on the Road at Shenandoah

WINCHESTER, Va. – The Allegheny men's lacrosse team was unable to overcome a second quarter run as they fell on the road to Shenandoah, 10-3, Wednesday (March 6) in Virginia.

The Hornets got out to a 2-0 lead before the Gators got on the board. Nick Gralewski (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) provided the goal for Allegheny, cutting the lead to 2-1. After Shenandoah scored their third goal of the quarter, Gralewski was quick to answer with his second goal of the contest. That goal proved to be the final one of the opening frame as the Gators trailed by one after 15 minutes.

The Gators took advantage of an extra man opportunity early in the second quarter. This time, Gralewski provided the assist to JP Rakis (Kensington, Md./Walter Johnson) as he tied the game at three. However, the Hornets ended the half on. 4-0 run to lead 7-3 at halftime.

Shenandoah added three more goals in the second half while limiting the Gators chances as Allegheny dropped the nonconference road game.
