Gators Drop Nonconference Bout Against Adrian

MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny men's lacrosse team was unable to overcome a second quarter run by Adrian as they fell to the Bulldogs 13-8 Saturday (March 30) in Meadville.

The Gators opened up the game with three straight goals. Nick Gralewski (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) scored the bookend goals unassisted while JP Rakis (Kensington, Md./Walter Johnson) scored unassisted in between. The Bulldogs scored a pair of goals to cut the lead to one. Gideon Sullivan (Getzville, N.Y./Cathedral (Ind.)) scored a pair of goals with an Adrian one splitting them up. Aidan D'Amato (Tolland, Conn./Tolland) assisted Sullivan's first goal.

Adrian controlled the momentum in the second quarter, outscoring the Gators by a 5-0 margin to take an 8-5 lead into the locker room.

Allegheny struck first in the second half as Rakis scored off a feed from D'Amato. After an Adrian goal, Jack Cushwa (Martinsburg, W. Va./Martinsburg) scored on a man-up opportunity, assisted by Rakis. Those proved to be the only goals of the frame as the Bulldogs led 11-9 heading into the final quarter.
