BEREA, Ohio -- Lauren Petrarca (Simi Valley, Calif./Royal) reached a career milestone on Wednesday night, as the junior midfielder notched her 100th career goal in Allegheny College's 13-8 loss to Baldwin Wallace University.
Petrarca led all Allegheny (0-2) point-getters with three against the Yellow Jackets (2-1), as she found the back of the net three times in the non-conference matchup. Her second goal, which came at the 6:53 mark in the third quarter, was her 100th as a Gator. Petrarca is the 14th women's lacrosse player in program history to reach 100 career goals, joining former teammates
Senna Perelman '23 and
Grace Baginski '23.
Despite the hat trick from Petrarca, the Gators had a tough time slowing down the Yellow Jackets in the first quarter. Baldwin Wallace scored the first five goals of the game within the first seven-plus minutes of the game and outscored Allegheny 6-1 in the period. That proved to be the difference maker, as the two teams matched each other goal-for-goal in the remaining three quarters.
