Men’s Lacrosse Falls in PAC Semifinals

GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Allegheny men's lacrosse team fell in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) semifinals to top-seed Grove City 23-10 Wednesday evening (May 3).

The Wolverines struck first in the game. Ryan Therkorn (Falls Church, Va./George C. Marshall) won the ensuing faceoff and took the ball down the field and found the back of the net, tying the game at one. A few minutes later, Nick Gralewski (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) scored off a feed from Aidan D'Amato (Tolland, Conn./Tolland) as the Gators gained a 2-1 lead. However, the Wolverines gained control of the game after that, scoring 10 straight goals to jump ahead, 11-2. A. D'Amato broke up the run with an unassisted goal. The teams then went back-and-forth the rest of the half. Gideon Sullivan (Getzville, N.Y./Cathedral (Ind.)) scored off a Nicholas Cimillo (Palm Harbor, Fla./East Lake) assist while Pete Schellbach (New York, N.Y./Salisbury School) scored unassisted. Grove City led 14-5 at the half.

The Gators started the third on a 3-1 run. Sullivan struck twice to complete his hat trick with Schellbach and A. D'Amato assisting. Gralewski supplied the third goal for the Gators, his second of the game. However, the Wolverines outpaced the Gators 4-1 to end the frame, with Sullivan scoring his fourth goal off an A. D'Amato assist.

Harrison Seabold (Silver Spring, Md./Barrie) scored early in the fourth off a pass from A. D'Amato, but the Wolverines owned a 4-1 advantage in the frame as the Gators' season ended in the PAC Semifinals.
