MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny College men's tennis team improved to 4-0 against Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opponents and extended its win streak to six consecutive matches with a pair of 9-0 victories on Saturday inside the David V. Wise Center.
The Gators (10-3, 4-0 PAC) began with a morning sweep of Thiel College (0-4, 0-1 PAC), before dethroning the Presidents from Washington and Jefferson College (1-6, 0-2 PAC) by an identical 9-0 final score.
The short-handed Tomcats were forced to forfeit matches at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles, but didn't put up much of a fight in the remaining matches. Allegheny only dropped one point in doubles and two in singles. Everyone in the singles lineup played up a spot, includingÂ
Adam Shinomiya (Portland, Ore./International School of Beaverton), who secured his first No. 1 singles win.
Allegheny swept the Presidents with ease in the nightcap. The Gators lost a combined four points and earned five singles wins by 6-0, 6-0 scores.
