Titans Top Gators in PAC Bout

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Allegheny men's basketball team traveled to Westminster for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest Wednesday evening (Dec. 6), falling to the Titans 71-56.

After the Titans scored the first basket of the game, the Gators would go on a 14-0 to take control. Luke Barker (New Castle, Pa./Struthers (Ohio)) hit a trio of three pointers in that stretch while Andre Wilder (Beaver Falls, Pa./Lincoln Park) had another one which started the run. The Titans were quick to answer though, going on their 11-0 run to tie the game.

The Gators continued to shoot well from distance as three pointers by Jayson Perry (Tampa, Fla./Sickles) and Preston Turk (New Castle, Pa./Neshannock) put them back in front, 23-17. However, the Titans closed out the half on an 8-0 run to take a 33-31 lead into halftime.

Barker led the Gators with 11 points in the first half while Wilder had nine. Allegheny made six three pointers in the frame and held an 18-16 edge in rebounding.

Allegheny tied the game early in the second half, however, the Titans went on a 7-0 run to pull ahead, 48-41. The Gators would cut into the lead a few times the rest of the way, but ultimately were unable to overcome the deficit as they fell in PAC play.
