TRAFFORD, Pa. – Jacy Diaz (Barranquitas, Puerto Rico/Gallatin (Tenn.)) of the Allegheny volleyball team was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Defensive Player of the Week for her effort in a pair of wins last week.
This marks the second weekly honor for Diaz this season.
Diaz tallied 40 digs and eight aces during a pair of conference sweeps. In a sweep of Washington and Jefferson, Diaz led the Gators with 25 digs. She also had four aces in the match. Diaz then tallied 15 digs and four more aces in a road sweep of Waynesburg.
For the season, Diaz leads the team with 562 digs and 73 aces. She ranks in the top 15 nationally in both categories.
The Gators, who earned the third-seed for the PAC Championships, will host sixth-seed Grove City in a first round match Tuesday (Nov. 7) at 7 pm.
