WASHINGTON, Pa. -- For the second time in as many years as members of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC), the Allegheny College women's tennis team clinched the conference's regular-season championship and secured home-court advantage throughout the PAC Championship Tournament.
Allegheny (9-1, 8-0 PAC) closed the books on another unbeaten season against PAC opponents by defeating Washington and Jefferson College (5-5, 4-4 PAC) on Tuesday night in Washington, Pennsylvania, by an 8-1 score.Â
Since becoming members of the PAC prior to the 2022-23 season, the Gators have yet to lose a conference match. The Allegheny women are 16-0 over that span, and will now set their sights on another PAC championship next week.
The PAC Women's Tennis Championship Tournament begins on Tuesday, October 17, but with a first-round bye, the Gators won't host their first match until the semifinals on Thursday, October 19. The finals will be hosted by the highest remaining seed on Saturday, October 21.
