HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The Allegheny women's tennis team traveled north to face Houghton in a nonconference match Tuesday (April 5).

The Gators swept the Highlanders 9-0.

Ella Swan (Nashville, Tenn./Hume-Fogg Academic) and Jean-Arlette Legrand (San Jaun, Puerto Rico/Commonwealth Parkville School) at first doubles as well as Katherine Marks (Argyle, Texas/Liberty Christian) and Katherine Stancil (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) at second doubles each won 8-1. Sabrina Rodriguez (Kissimmee, Fla./Professional and Technical High School) and Taylor Hayes (Geneva, Ill./Geneva Community) won 8-2 at third singles.

Legrand and Stancil swept fourth and fifth singles, respectively. Swan and Noelle Kidd (Broadview Heights, Ohio/North Royalton) won 6-0, 6-1 at third and sixth singles. Marks won at first singles 6-0, 6-2 while Rodriguez won at second singles 6-2, 6-2.

The Gators are back in action Saturday (April 9) when they open North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) play at Wooster.
