MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny men's lacrosse team was edged in the 2022 season and North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) finale by a 7-4 count by DePauw at Frank B. Fuhrer Field.

After a scoreless 11:33, DePauw struck first, but Logan Sharp (Olmsted Falls, Ohio/Olmsted Falls) tied the game at 1-1 with 0.5 second remaining in the first quarter off a feed from Cassady Bouthet (Vernon, Conn./Rockville). Six minutes into the second period, Benjamin Gallegos (Lafeyette, Colo./Dawson School) finished a pass in front of the cage from CT Graniel (Scranton, Pa./Scranton Preparatory) to give Allegheny the lead at 2-1. DePauw answered back 2:30 later with a man-up goal at the two teams went into intermission knotted at 2-2.

The Tigers needed just 45 seconds into the second half to retake the lead, but Pete Schellbach (New York, N.Y./Salisbury School) brought the Gators even at 12:07 with a man-up goal assisted by Nicholas Cimillo (Palm Harbor, Fla./East Lake). Unfortunately, the next three goals came from visitors before Jack Cushwa (Martinsburg, W. Va./Martinsburg) brought Allegheny within 6-4 off an assist by Schellbach with just under nine minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. DePauw added an insurance goal at 7:42 to provide the final margin.

Graniel and Cushwa topped the Gators with six and five shots, respectively.

Bouthet posted four ground balls to lead the team, with five Gators adding three apiece: Cushwa, Ryan Therkorn (Falls Church, Va./George C. Marshall), Dillon D'Amato (Tolland, Conn./Tolland), Ryan Mantione (East Northport, N.Y./John Glenn) and Tim Wallis (Shady Side, Md./Southern). Bouthet, D'Amato and Wallis each provided three caused turnovers.
