DELAWARE, Ohio – In its penultimate North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) match, the Gators fell in a 16-15 back-and-forth road contest at Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday (April 23).
The Gators found themselves even with the Battling Bishops at the end of the first as both teams found the back of the net five times. The five Gator goals all came from different players as
Emily Herrold (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley),
Senna Perelman (Cleveland, Ohio/Cleveland Heights),
Devin Gaffney (Rochester, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy),
Grace Baginski (Lakeville, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) and
Mary Allen (Victor, N.Y./Victor) all scored.
The deadlock continued in the second quarter as both teams scored three times. Baginski scored off an assist from
Ashley Amato (Westerly, R.I./Westerly) for the first Gator goal of the frame.
Lauren Petrarca (Simi Valley, Calif./Royal) found the back of the net before Amato added a late tally.
The game remained even as once again, the Gators and the Battling Bishops matched goals in the third. Perelman scored three times in the 15 minutes while Baginski scored her third goal as the game went into the fourth quarter tied at 12.
The back-and-forth continued in the final 15 minutes. The Battling Bishops scored before Baginski matched the goal minutes later. Ohio Wesleyan would score the next two goals, but Perelman and
