MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny men's tennis team concluded their regular season with a 9-0 no conference sweep against Penn State Behrend at home Wednesday (April 20).
The first doubles pairing of
Adam Shinomiya (Portland, Ore./International School of Beaverton) and
Nate Chubb (Akron, N.Y./Akron Central) as well as the third doubles pairing of
Benny Gantrish (Tilton, N.H./Tilton) and
Will Jarvie (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) each won 8-2. The second doubles team of
Wonjoon Cho (Wichita, Kan./Wichita Collegiate School) and
David Salazar II (Newburgh, N.Y./Newburgh Free Academy) won 8-0.
Jarvie (third), Chubb (fifth) and Salazar II (sixth) all collected their second win of the day in singles competition.
Anton Hedlund (Hovas, Sweden/Katrinelundsgymnasiet) at first singles,
Julien Voisey (Tokyo, Japan/ES International School) at second singles and
Fabrizzio Reategui (Boca Raton, Fla./Boca Prep International) at fourth singles all won to finish the sweep.
The Gators are back in action Friday (April 22) when they play 13th-ranked Denison in the opening round of the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Championships.
