HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- The Allegheny men's tennis team defeated Lawrence 8-1 on Monday (March 21) to kick off its spring break trip.
Anton Hedlund (Hovas, Sweden/Katrinelundsgymnasiet),
Fabrizzio Reategui (Boca Raton, Fla./Boca Prep International), and
Julien Voisey (Tokyo, Japan/ES International School) each earned shutout victories in singles competition.
Adam Shinomiya (Portland, Ore./International School of Beaverton) won 6-1, 6-0 at third singles while
Will Jarvie (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) won fourth singles 6-3, 6-2.
Meanwhile,
David Salazar II (Newburgh, N.Y./Newburgh Free Academy) and Reategui highlighted the doubles matchups by teaming up for an 8-0 win.
Wonjoon Cho (Wichita, Kan./Wichita Collegiate School) and Hedlund won 8-2 at first doubles while Shinomiya and
Benny Gantrish (Tilton, N.H./Tilton) took second doubles 8-2.
Allegheny takes on Union at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, March 22.
