LATROBE, Pa. – The Allegheny women's basketball team dropped a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game at Saint Vincent, 62-42, Saturday (Dec. 10).
The opening quarter was a defensive battle between the two teams, with the Gators scoring just three points as the Bearcats led 10-3. The Gators cut the lead down to four multiple times in the second quarter as a
Sarah Santicola (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) layup brought it to 14-10. However, Saint Vincent ended the half on a 12-3 run to lead 26-13 at halftime.
Branygan Bianchin (Wexford, Pa./North Catholic) led the Gators with four points in the opening half.
Over the course of the first six minutes of the second half, the Bearcats expanded their lead to 36-17. Allegheny responded with a 10-3 run to end the frame, featuring threes by
Alexis Caldwell (Whitefish Bay, Wis./Whitefish Bay) and
Sofia Genareo (Lakewood, N.Y./Southwestern Central), cutting the lead to 39-27 heading into the final quarter. Each team had their highest offensive output in the fourth quarter, but the Bearcats outpaced the Gators 23-15 to stave off the comeback attempt.

- Genareo led the Gators with 10 points alongside three rebounds.
- Emily Lauer (Knox, Pa./Keystone) and Caldwell both finished with nine points and four rebounds.
- Jess Bickart (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) had team-highs with nine rebounds and six assists as well as four points.
- Santicola finished with eight rebounds and four points.
- Kate Leach (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) grabbed five rebounds.
