MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny College men's basketball team won its second consecutive Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup in impressive fashion, as the Gators tamed the Bethany College Bison at the James H. Mullen, Jr. Arena by a 90-52 final score on Tuesday night.
It's the second time this season that Allegheny (3-3, 2-1 PAC) has reached the 90-point plateau, while the defense surrendered a season-low 52 to the Bison (0-5, 0-3 PAC). With such a lopsided win, the Gators outperformed Bethany in nearly every category. AC shot 37-of-80 (46.3%) from the floor and crashed the boards with a 55-to-33 advantage in rebounds.
Andre Wilder (Beaver Falls, Pa./Lincoln Park) led all scorers with 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting (69.2%).
Caden Hinckley (Boise, Idaho/Mt. Lebanon (Pa.)) contributed a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
Ryan Lang (Sarver, Pa./Knoch) also logged double-digit points with 14 in addition to six rebounds and a team-high six assists.
In total, 10 of the 12 players who saw the floor scored at least one point.
The game was never in question, as Hinckley netted the first six points of the night to propel Allegheny to a 10-0 lead within the first four minutes. The Gators led by as many as 27 in the first half and pushed the margin to 30 points for the first time on a Hinckley breakaway dunk at 13:12 in the second half.
