MEADVILLE, Pa. – An early goal by Bethany proved to be the lone tally of the game as the Gators fell at home to Bethany 1-0 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Quarterfinals Saturday (Oct. 29).
The Bison got on the board in the 14th minute, finding the back of the net on a diving header off a cross.
For the opening half, both teams produced eight shots, though the Gators put more on net, 3-1. The Gators also owned a 3-2 advantage on corner kicks.
Shane Lisman (Mars, Pa./Mars) nearly tied the game in the 83rd minute.
Darius Googe (East Hartford, Conn./East Hartford) crossed a ball to the far post, but Lisman's header went just wide. Googe also had a chance in the final minute, but his shot was stopped by the goalkeeper.
