Women’s soccer closes season with 3-1 win against Thiel

MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny women's soccer team concluded their 2022 season with a 3-1 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory against Thiel Wednesday (Oct. 26).

The Gators got on the board in the tenth minute. After a throw-in, Taylor McKindley (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif./Saint Margarita Catholic) crossed the ball to Julieta Schworm (Newark, Ohio/Licking Valley) in front of the net. Schworm headed the cross past the goalie to make it 1-0. The lead was short lived, however, as Thiel scored on a free kick just three minutes later.

The Gators broke the stalemate in the 69th minute. Allie Peasley (Douglas, Wyo./Douglas) passed the ball to Emma Miller (Elyria, Ohio/Lake Ridge Academy) who drilled it right under the crossbar.

Just three minutes later, the Gators struck again. A shot by Emma Milligan (Parkesburg, Pa./Octorara) was blocked but found its way back to Natasha Rosa (East Lansing, Mich./East Lansing). Rosa then shot from the far side of the field into the back of the net, extending the lead to 3-1.

That goal proved to be the final of the match as the Gators collected the win.
