Men's Soccer Draws Franciscan on Senior Day

MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny men's soccer team's senior day ended with a 2-2 draw with Franciscan Saturday (Oct. 22) in President's Athletic Conference (PAC) action.

Before the match, the Gators honored their six seniors: Zach Ioli (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper Saint Clair), Tighe Raymond (Washington, DC/DeMatha Catholic), Shane Lisman (Mars, Pa./Mars), Aidan Houlgate (Alexandria, Va./West Potomac), Anthony Melograne (Pittsburgh, Pa./Peters Township) and Dave Andersen (Kingston, Wash./Kingston).

After pressuring the Franciscan defense, the Gators broke through for a goal in the 40th minute. Henry Rosenberg (Pittsburgh, Pa./Allderdice) finessed his way through a pair of defenders before rocketing a ball to the top corner of the net for the unassisted goal.

Franciscan tied the match with a goal in the 61st minute, converting a header off a cross.

The Gators regained the lead in the 78th minute. Brady Napoleon (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) set up Cliff Weaver (Silver Spring, Md./Albert Einstein), who drilled the shot to the back of the net. However, the lead would be short lived as the Barons scored on a free kick just a minute later.

The Gators and the Barons both had chances in the closing minutes but neither found the back of the net as the game ended in a draw.
