MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny College women's tennis team punched its ticket to the 2022 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship on Thursday afternoon with a 5-0 semifinal victory over Westminster College.
Facing the fourth-seeded Titans (10-4), Allegheny (13-0) swept all three doubles matches and only needed to win two singles matches to secure the victory. At first singles,
Katherine Marks (Argyle, Texas/Liberty Christian) took down Sabrina Slagle, 6-1, 6-2. At the other end of the lineup,
Ryan Cox (Tracy, Calif./Home School) lost only one game and defeated Taylor Dlugozima at the No. 6 position, 6-0, 6-1.
Although the remaining matches are officially marked as unfinished, the Gators were on their way to another nine-point victory. Every Allegheny player won their first set and was in the lead in the second set when Cox clinched the deciding point.
