Oberlin, Ohio – The Allegheny women's basketball team fell to Oberlin 79-54 on Wednesday (Jan. 19) in a North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) matchup. The Gators' record drops to 4-10, 1-5 NCAC and their losing streak extends to five games.
As a whole, Allegheny trailed 15 to two in offensive rebounds and allowed 13 points scored off its 16 turnovers.
The Gators most efficient period came after the half where they scored 18 points in the third quarter.
Alexis Caldwell (Whitefish Bay, Wis./Whitefish Bay) delivered eight of her career-high 20 points and the only block for Allegheny in the game.
Other contributors included
Emily Lauer (Knox, Pa./Keystone) and
Branygan Bianchin (Wexford, Pa./North Catholic) who added ten points each. Meanwhile,
Jenna Manke (Freeport, Pa./Freeport) led the team with five assists and was one of three players to register a steal with the other two being Caldwell and Bianchin.
Allegheny will look to bounce back at Kenyon on Saturday, Jan. 22, as the two teams are set to tip-off at 2 p.m.
