MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny Men's tennis team opened their 2021-22 season at home against Washington and Jefferson Saturday (Sept. 4).
 
The Gators swept the Presidents 9-0.
 
In doubles competition, Adam Shinomiya (Portland, Ore./International School of Beaverton) and Benny Gantrish (Tilton, N.H./Tilton) at first doubles and Nate Chubb (Akron, N.Y./Akron Central) and Guillaume Emiliano Loinard-Gonzalez (Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico/Universidad Jefferson Morelia) at third doubles each won 8-1.  Anton Hedlund (Hovas, Sweden) and Julien Voisey (Tokoyo, Japan/ES International School) had a clean 8-0 sweep at second doubles.
 
The Gators were flawless in singles competition.  Hedlund, Wonjoon Cho (Wichita, Kan./Wichita Collegiate School), Shinomiya, Voisey, Will Jarvie (Wilton, Conn.) and Fabrizzio Reategui (Boca Raton, Fla./Boca Prep International) all won with 6-0, 6-0 marks.
 
The Gators return to action Wednesday (Sept. 8) when they travel to Division-II Edinboro.
