PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- Allegheny hit the road for its final tune-up before North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) play begins, dropping a 3-1 decision at Carnegie Mellon on Tuesday night (Sept. 21).
The Tartans scored three goals in the opening half during a seven minute stretch between the 29th and 36th minute. They stood up as the only markers in the match until
Shane Lisman (Mars, Pa./Mars) used a header to finish a cross from
Cliff Weaver (Silver Spring, Md./Albert Einstein) to the near post in the 85th minute.
Jack Barron-Sluga (Guelph, Ont./Appleby College) made six saves in the first half, while
Gabe Anthony (Tarentum, Pa./Highlands) added a pair of saves in a scoreless second half.
The Gators will begin their final season of NCAC play this weekend with a 3:30 p.m. match at Kenyon in Gambier, Ohio.
